The factory was founded in 1916 as Avtomobilnoe Moskovskoe Obshchestvo (AMO, Russian Автомобильное Московское Общество (АМО)-Moscow Vehicle Society). This Zil-111 was a limousine created by the Soviet car supplier ZiL in 1958-1967. It was the primary post-war limousine designed in the Soviet Union.
