The factory was founded throughout 1916 as Avtomobilnoe Moskovskoe Obshchestvo (AMO, Russian Автомобильное Московское Общество (АМО)-Moscow Vehicle Society). The Zil-111 was a limousine manufactured by the Soviet car supplier ZiL in 1958-1967. It was the primary post-war limousine designed inside Soviet Union.
